The Night before Christmas

'Twas a week before Christmas, but still "Christmas Eve,"
And the holiday panic would grant no reprieve,
For Joseph and Edward & I were about
To celebrate Christmas before flying out
For holiday cheer in a whole different state
And to spend with our fam'lies the real Christmas date.

Dear Edward was nestled all snug on the floor
To sleep for an hour ere he woke up once more;
Joe calm in his sweat pants, but I in a sweat
Despaired our festivities weren't ready yet.
The timeline I'd set I was sure I'd not make.
(We still had some presents to wrap, for Pete's sake!)
The lines of wee stockings and lights were not strung;
The wreath that would serve for a tree not yet hung;
We waited for packages not received yet;
We still had to pack! How much stress can you get?!

  1. This looks like only half a poem. I guess your next post will tell the next chapter...
