Edward and Robert came inside gigglingly from a romp in the snow. Edward loudly whisper-warned his brother not to "tell Mom and Dad about what happened outside," but my super-senses overheard. I pressed the two miscreants for more information and was informed that they had left a broken toy outside in the snow in order to conceal its brokenness.
I lectured them on the values of honesty and of not littering regardless of the state of their belongings, and Edward, sighing loudly, charged back out into the snow to recover the broken toy.
Robert helpfully called out the door at his brother: "But don't tell them about all the body parts we left out there!"
Wait... what?
