+He wakes up early and wants to snuggle in bed with you while you slowly wake up
+As soon as you get out of bed, he wants to continue snuggling in his blankets on the bench while you make breakfast
+He sits at the breakfast table refusing to eat breakfast, and resists all attempts to help him eat bites
+His sleeping is practically non-existent; he naps only once or twice a month when lack of sleep catches up with him -- and then refuses to go to sleep that night.
+He vacillates widely between running wildly from room to room and wanting to snuggle, quietly, on your lap in his blankets
+He vacillates widely between giggling with manic glee and weeping over the many injustices of the world

...Let's just say that, when Edward threw up just inside the preschool doors and was immediately pronounced too sick to attend class today, we were both surprised and not surprised at all. With Edward, it's just impossible to tell when he's sick.
| Look, Mommy! We're walking upside-down! |
| No preschool = cause for celebration, apparently. This is the happiest sick child you'll ever see. |
Could throwing up be due to nerves? Or could he (gasp) possibly like staying home from preschool? I don't see anything strange here, really (especially since his eating seems irregular at best; one has to wonder - if he never eats, what was there for him to throw up?) I used to throw up in the night out of fear due having to swimming/karate classes the next day. I wasn't sick, just... um, petrified?
ReplyDeleteEdward spent the rest of the day asking to return to preschool, so I don't think that's the problem. I think he really did have an upset stomach.
