...Yeah. I know. Not much to look at, is it?
I may or may not have underbaked it. There's a chance I made a mess of eyeballing the various layers as I cut them, resulting in a lopsided cake. Perhaps I skipped a step when making the frosting, thereby eliminating my chances of a decent spreading consistency. And maybe (just maybe) I slaughtered the assembling-and-frosting part of the process.
However, like most new acquaintances, you shouldn't judge it by how it looks...
...but by how it tastes.
And I have always had good taste in friends.
It's sad when budding friendships don't last long, isn't it?
Gosh, Kirsti--
ReplyDeleteThat's quite an ambitious venture--scratch cake (flourless on top of that)--which puts me to shame! Edward looks prepared! The apperance of multiple layers of icing would persuade me to taste most anything!
Who cares how it looks? You had my tastebuds salivating at the words "chocolate," "peanut butter," and "cream cheese." And may I just say that the lopsided picture really adds to the cake's character. I propose we name it "Freddy." Check out my blog if you want to see Daniel's cake, "Alfonso."
ReplyDeleteWhen Mary was 2 years old, I made her a strawberry cake and forgot to add the jello to the mix - the jello is what makes it pretty - not the strawberries. I was so surprised at how ugly it was and she was delighted and picked that for birthday cake for years. I always added the jello after that! It tasted good with and without the jello.
ReplyDeleteI am proud to see you follow the Miller family tradition of eating your mistakes. While eye appeal is desirable it is not essential for good taste and nourishment. GrtGpaMiller
